Iran is one of the most calamitous regions in the world. According to the failure and casualties statistics, 33 out of 41 different types of natural hazards happen almost every year in Iran and made this region the 6th disaster-prone country in the world. Earthquakes among those natural hazards cause loss of many lives or make people homeless many times during the past decades. The below Diagrams depict the number of catastrophic earthquakes and casualties over the past ten year.
Earthquakes may lead to irreversible and disastrous consequences especially in the rural areas. Destruction of buildings due to improper use of construction materials, absence of construction standards, loss of natural resources, social panic, social insecurity, infectious disease spread, and more importantly loosing access to the facility services due to the massive road damages and the hardships in helicopters’ landing are only a few consequences of a disastrous earthquake in rural areas. In addition, the first aid supplies that must be delivered to the affected regions by helicopters are prone to be damaged or depraved, might be landed in hard-to-reach spots, and cannot be managed properly.
We have proposed a solution to facilitate the connection between the rescue helicopters and the affected people or rescuers. This allows the immediate initiation of the rescue procedures and construction of the rescue bases. Our weaver drones sew network structures in proper spots that can be used for safe and controllable delivery of the crates. All the requirements for the safe and reliable delivery of the packages are considered in the location of the structure. Managing and distribution of the packages and first-aid crates will be significantly facilitated thanks to our solution. Constructing these structures in predefined locations and on high enough heights not only facilitates the safe delivery of the packages by helicopters, but also prevent the overcrowded and unmanageable people at the delivery time. These all lead to an accurate and organized rescue procedure for all the affected people.
Drones’ charging locations are in the form of constructed bases located in pre-defined locations having easy access and demanding less debris removal actions. As a result, it is possible that the relief and rescue team encounter serious hardships regarding the delivery of first-aid crates to the locations far from the bases. In this case, supporting drones are able to deliver the crates to the specified regions. These drones are being charged near the landing location of the helicopters and are hung below the landing base, ready to receive the crates.
Constructor drones are smaller than the weaver drones. They are equipped with four attached handles, enabling the weaver drone to sew the structure around the constructor drone. The number of constructor drones and weaver drones is unchanged during the construction phase. The constructor drones are arranged as a network, while the weaver drones sew the structure to the specified height, using the handles on constructor drones.
